Our first two hens from 2015 ... Oreo and Goldie.

We raised Oreo and Goldie from week-old chicks back in 2015.

Goldie and Oreo were both super calm and friendly, despite having to endure the constant amorous intentions of our adopted bunny, Mr. Lord-Of-Carrots. As a result he was relegated to spending the nights out in the garden just so they could get some rest. That worked reasonable well for 6 months until one night in January when they attracted the attention of Wil E. Coyote who had just raided Rikki's chicken coop a few houses down from us.

Oreo put up a brave fight and Bena came to the rescue, but alas it was time for her to fly off to the Big-Chicken-Coop-in-the-Sky. Mr. LoC decided to continue making his home under the TreeHouse for a few more days more, until he too was outsmarted by the midnight trespasser.

Single chickens get lonely ... so of course it's time for some new company: Rosie, Ygrid and Sansa.
